Not every Custom Leather Patch Hats order is the same — and we understand that. A small business ordering 12 hats for their staff has very different needs compared to an apparel brand launching 500 custom pieces for retail. At Custom Leather Patch Hats Maker, we give every order the same level of attention, quality, and care. Whether you need a small batch for your team or a large production run for your brand, we make sure your hats look professional, fit properly, and represent your vision the right way.
No matter what silhouette your brand calls for, we have it. Browse our most popular styles:

A leather patch hat is a hat — typically a trucker hat, dad hat, or snapback — with a piece of leather attached to the front panel carrying your logo. The logo is applied to the leather through laser engraving, debossing, or heat stamping. The leather patch is then sewn onto the hat's front panel, creating a layered, premium look that standard embroidery or printing cannot replicate.
Laser engraving uses a laser beam to burn your design into the leather surface — creating a dark, precise, high-contrast impression. It works best for detailed logos with fine lines and text. Debossing uses a metal die pressed under heat and pressure to physically impress your design into the leather — creating a recessed, tactile impression that is felt as much as seen. It works best for bold, clean shapes and a more understated, refined look.
There is no minimum. You can order as few as 1 hat. Most customers start with 12 to 24 hats for a reasonable per-unit cost. For bulk orders of 48 or more, ask for a dedicated bulk quote. Leather patch hats command a higher retail price point than embroidered hats, so the margin at small quantities is still favorable for most brands.
Genuine leather is made from real animal hide — typically cowhide. It has a natural grain pattern, slight variation between patches, and ages with character over time. Faux leather is a synthetic material that looks and feels similar to genuine leather but is consistent across all patches, moisture-resistant, and available in a wider range of colors. Genuine leather has a richer feel; faux leather has more consistency and is better for large bulk orders or brands with a vegan positioning.
Vector files — AI, EPS, or PDF — are strongly preferred for leather patch orders, especially laser engraving. The precision of engraving means that any imprecision in the artwork file will show up in the final product. High-resolution JPG or PNG files are accepted but may limit the detail that can be reproduced. Send us your best available file and we will advise you.
Standard production time is 7–12 business days after proof approval. Leather patch orders may run toward the longer end of this window due to the additional production steps involved — patch cutting, engraving or debossing, and attachment. We will give you a specific estimated timeline when we confirm your order. Rush options are available — contact us to discuss based on your deadline.
Yes. We offer oval, ellipse, shield, badge, and die-cut custom shapes in addition to standard rectangles. Die-cut patches — where the patch is cut to the outline of your logo itself — are available for larger orders. If you have a specific shape in mind, mention it when requesting your quote and we will confirm availability and pricing.
Leather patches are available on trucker hats, dad hats, snapback hats, baseball hats, and rope hats. Trucker hats and dad hats are the most popular combinations due to their front panel construction, but the patch can be applied to any style we carry. If you have a specific hat style in mind that is not listed, contact us and we will advise.
Yes. You can mix hat colors and leather colors within the same order — for example, 25 black trucker hats with dark brown leather patches and 25 khaki trucker hats with natural tan leather patches. Specify the split and preferences when requesting your quote.
A well-made genuine or faux leather patch, properly sewn onto the hat, is one of the most durable decoration methods available. Genuine leather will age and develop a patina over time — it does not crack or peel but it does change character with wear, which most people consider a feature rather than a flaw. Faux leather is more color-stable and moisture-resistant, making it slightly more consistent over long-term wear. Neither will peel or separate from the hat if sewn correctly — and we sew them correctly.
